Something that no one talks much about is the swollen feet post delivery. I had heard a lot about swollen feet during pregnancy but it was nothing like the marshmallows I had for feet after I delivered, and it lasted for a while, a week and a half making even walking up and down the stairs very difficult! I wondered if I had some serious problem! Maybe it doesn’t happen to many people, but it sure affected me! It has something to do with the fluid volume in your body.

I had swollen feet during pregnancy and afterwards. So bad that my size 9 feet ballooned to a size 10 and I was wearing sandals in the middle of winter.
Took me about a year to go back to original size and width. The ballooned feet is probably what makes mommies do the duck waddle
Hope your feet are ok now Karen!

I had swollen feet too, both before and after Leah was born. During the delivery my doula massaged my feet until they were back to normal (did I mention how awesome my doula is?) but by the next day they had swollen back to their previous size and kept getting bigger! I’m so glad I brought big slippers to the hospital or else I would be walking around barefoot. I think all the sitting down and lying in an inclined hospital bed contributed to the swelling as well.
